Otoplasty
Otoplasty is a cosmetic procedure that reshapes and repositions the ears to create a more balanced and natural-looking facial appearance.

Otoplasty is a surgical procedure performed to correct shape and structural deformities of the ear. The most common and well-known form of otoplasty is the correction of protruding ears. Protruding ears occur due to loose cartilage or underdeveloped cartilage folds, causing the ear to stick out forward or outward. While this condition does not impact physical health, it can affect a person’s self-esteem due to its aesthetic appearance.
The ear is an organ that completes its development by the age of 7. For this reason, if protruding ear problems are detected early, their progression can be slowed or prevented with non-surgical methods such as the use of headbands. However, these methods do not provide a definitive solution. Otoplasty is the most precise and effective treatment for protruding ears. This surgery improves the patient’s aesthetic appearance and significantly boosts their self-confidence.
Otoplasty is a comfortable and low-risk procedure for our patients, lasting approximately 40-90 minutes and typically performed under local anesthesia using advanced techniques. Before the operation, the patient undergoes routine health checks and is examined by Dr. Ahmet Dilber, after which the procedure can begin.
Otoplasty primarily aims to improve the shape and structure of the ear. The surgery is performed through small incisions behind the ear, which leave almost no visible scars. During the preliminary consultation, Dr. Ahmet Dilber determines the most suitable technique for the patient, but the most common method involves reshaping the excess cartilage by sculpting it. Excess cartilage may be removed or reshaped and then secured with sutures to create the ear’s ideal appearance.
After the ear is reshaped to its ideal form, special dressings are applied, and the patient is taken to their room to rest. Otoplasty does not affect hearing, and the recovery time is usually very short. With otoplasty, patients achieve ears that are naturally shaped and proportionate to their face.

Day 1: The patient, whose final examinations are performed after the surgery, can rest at the hotel or at home. The dressings can be removed 2 to 4 days after the operation, and the patient can shower. The ear area should be protected from impacts and external factors.

Day 5: The patient, whose examinations are carried out by Dr. Ahmet Dilber, can return home at the end of the fifth day. Since the sutures placed in the operation are absorbable, they do not need to be removed. (The stitches will dissolve in 5-21 days.)

Day 14: The recovery process in ear aesthetics is 2 weeks on average. In this process, swelling and edema go down. It is recommended to sleep with a band that covers the ears at night for 6-8 weeks.

Month 1: It is very important for the healing process that the recommended creams are used regularly after the patient's return home. Monthly follow-ups with patients continue either face-to-face or via WhatsApp.
