Bichectomy
Bichectomy is a surgical procedure performed to enhance facial features and achieve a slimmer appearance by removing the buccal fat pads in the cheeks.

Bichectomy surgery, also known as cheek thinning, is a face-shaping surgery preferred by patients with oval-round faces who want to highlight the shape of their faces. Highlighted cheekbones and thin and sharp facial features are the common features of appearances that are now called 'beautiful'. This is one of the most effective reasons to opt for bichectomy surgery.
After a bichectomy, our patients have a V-shaped face with distinct lines instead of an oval. This brings the face closer to the golden ratio. With a short recovery time, bichectomy surgery offers a permanent solution for patients who are not satisfied with the cheek area. This surgery is also preferred by many celebrities due to its positive effects on the face.
The patient's routine medical tests are performed prior to the bichectomy surgery, which is performed under local anesthesia. The patient, who has not been found to have any health condition that prevents them from having the surgery, is ready for the surgery after consultation and examination by Dr. Ahmet Dilber.
It is very important to clean the patient's mouth before the bichectomy surgery. During the surgery, which takes an average of 30-45 minutes, 1 cm incisions are made on the inside of the cheek, and the buccal fatty tissue on the cheek is removed through this channel. The removed fatty tissue makes the cheek area thinner and more sculpted, making the cheekbones more prominent. The incisions opened at the end of the procedure are closed using sutures.

Step 1: The patient, who wants to get detailed information about the bichectomy surgery and make an appointment, starts the conversation with Dr. Ahmet Dilber's team through our communication channels. In this online consultation, we ask the patient to provide images of the right and left profiles and anterior angles of the regions where the surgery is desired. The patient's suitability for the bichectomy surgery is determined by Dr. Ahmet Dilber, and in special cases, a video consultation is performed.

Step 2: The patient, who is deemed to be a suitable candidate for bichectomy surgery in the online consultations, can make an appointment for an examination or surgery. Patients living abroad or outside the city must be in Istanbul at least one day before the surgery. On the first day, a personal consultation with Dr. Ahmet Dilber will occur at our clinic in Ataköy. The day before the surgery, the hospital is visited for various medical tests.

Step 3: As a result of the tests performed, the process can begin for our patient, who has no obstacle to undergoing the bichectomy surgery. Before and after the surgery, Dr. Ahmet Dilber visits the patient in her/his room. Before a bichectomy, performing oral cleaning as directed by experts is very important to prevent infections. After preliminary preparations, the patient is ready for surgery.

Step 4: Dr. Ahmet Dilber performs the patient's follow-up examinations after the operation. The patient is informed about oral cleaning and the general recovery process. The sutures placed in the surgery will dissolve on their own. For this reason, no removal of stitches is required. On the fifth day after the operation, the patient can return home.

Step 5: If the patient lives in Istanbul, in-person regular monthly follow-ups will be performed, and if she/he lives abroad, follow-ups are performed through the images sent through WhatsApp. Dr. Ahmet Dilber monitors the patient's progress and can recommend medications if necessary.
