Lip Lift
With the lip lift operation, the distance between the nose and lips is optimized for the patient, aiming to achieve the golden ratio appearance.

The lip lift procedure is a surgical operation preferred by our patients who are not satisfied with the aesthetic appearance of the area due to the excessive distance between their lips and nose. If the distance between the upper lip and the nose is greater than necessary, it may deteriorate the ideal proportion of the face and, thus, its aesthetic appearance. With the lip lift operation, the distance between the nose and lips is optimized for the patient, aiming to achieve the golden ratio appearance.
The distance between the nose and the lip that provides the ideal aesthetic appearance may vary from patient to patient. For example, the ideal distance between the nose and lips of our male patients is greater than that of our female patients. However, in general, it can be said that the ideal lip-nose distance is between 12-15 millimeters. Lip lift surgery is preferred by patients who are uncomfortable with the nose-lip distance due to genetic factors (congenital), and it can also offer a solution for patients who experience sagging due to aging. At the end of the surgery, patients have a more harmonious and aesthetically improved appearance, according to the golden ratio.
The patient, who has undergone a routine medical examination and has been found to have no health impediments to surgery, is ready for lip lift surgery. Lip lift surgery, which is performed under local anesthesia within 30-60 minutes, can be performed using different techniques. Dr. Ahmet Dilber decides which technique is best for the patient with the help of an expert opinion.
Lip lift surgery begins with a small incision under the nose and the removal of excess skin and fat between the lip and nose. At the end of the procedure, the open incisions are closed with sutures. The sutures used are absorbable sutures. Therefore, they do not need to be removed in the post-operative period. At the end of the procedure, the patient is taken to her/his room to rest.

Day 1: Following the post-operative examinations, the patient is discharged. The patient can apply cold compresses to the area on the advice of Dr. Ahmet Dilber. The sleeping position should be supine.

Day 5: The patient, whose examinations are performed by Dr. Ahmet Dilber, can return home at the end of the fifth day. Since the sutures used in the surgery are absorbable, they do not need to be removed. (The sutures dissolve in 5-21 days.) Heavy activities and sports should be avoided for the first week, and the area should be protected from impact.

Day 7: The recovery time for lip lift surgery is approximately 1 week. At the end of the first week, post-operative edema begins to recede.

Month 1: It is very important for the recovery process that the patient uses the recommended creams regularly after returning home. Monthly follow-ups with patients are continued either in person or through the images sent via WhatsApp.
